my kindle was broken

I got a kindle ppw manga last year, but its screen broke because I kept it in my tote bag without a protective case. I was very panicked but I knew there were many people who can still return the new device even if it is not due to the manufacturer's fault as long as within the warranty period. Around September 2019 I tried to contact amazon.com, they said that the manga machine was distributed by amazon.co.jp of Japan, so I had to contact them. However, amazon.co.jp customer support service only chat in Japanese, not in English. Of course, it is possible to use gg translation but it will be inconvenient to understand. Then they agreed to help me . I even gave the address and phone number so they could ship the new device. But I had waited for nearly a year, nothing happend, I forgot the kindle's situtation until (August 14, 2020) that I remembered and tried to contact again I contacted amazon.com because it was easier to contact them , they said my kindle was still under warranty and they told me to contact amazon jp. However, amazon.co.jp's customer service is only available at 9 am-6pm on Monday-Friday, so I have to wait 2 more days to contact. This morning I was so worried so I contacted with amazon.com cs to ask about my warranty period, they said it was over yesterday (August 14) ??? If so, when I contact amazon.co.jp , the warranty will have already expired for a few days.

- If the warranty has expired for a few days, can I still ask for an exchange?(because when I asked for their support, the warranty had not expired yet)

- If I can't, will amazon offer some customer support? ( Because I have heard that amazon customer service is very good. for eg: if I can't receive the new device, I can have a discount for a new ones or have the kindle screen sent to me (so that i can fix it on my own) )

I live in Viet Nam and this is the first time I have used Kindle as well as an Amazon product so these things are very complicated to me.
