Speaking of resemblance to pigs...

This is a bit of a tangent... and a weird tangent at that...

but rather interestingly, I recently read an article written by an actual PhD level biologist, who suspects that humans MIGHT actually be a hybrid-species between pigs/chimpanzees.

He points to the fact, that the arrangement of internal organs of pigs, are incredibly highly similar to humans (and no other animal more closely resembles humans in that aspect, than pigs)...

...to the point in which fetal-pigs are used in biology, medical, and anatomy dissection classes to train students about the internal structure of humans.

Similarly, he points out that pig skin is probably the closest to human skin... and the shape of a pig's head, merged with a chimpanzee head, seems to lend itself to the general shaping of a human head shape.

He also hypothesizes that at some point in time, in Africa, a female chimpanzee (or female ancestor to chimps) might have become lost alone in the wilderness/jungle, and may have subsequently somehow befriended a male pig... and eventually one thing lead to another.

The resulting offspring, may have won the genetic lottery, and beat all odds... in terms of being a viable hybrid, and then subsequently re-mated with other chimps...

so that in this way, subsequent generations were more "chimpanzee" like in body shape, rather than pig-like, but still contained significant pig-like qualities.

The fact that you can see many youtube videos of different species of animals becoming close friends, is evidence that it is possible that 2 different species of wild animals can accept each other, become obsessed with each other, become "friends", and even defend each other to the death.

And as we all know, sometimes animals are not too shy about relieving their moment of sexual frustration, in a temporary burst of cross-species mating. (IE: the male dog that tries to get it on with pretty much anyone else around!)

He also notes that nearly all hybrid creatures are inviable... and don't survive.

But every once in a while, a highly unlikely hybrid just accidentally, in which the DNA lines up well, survives.

In other words, that particularly HIGHLY UNLIKELY hybrid manages to win the "lottery" and is viable and capable of reproduction.

Put differently, nearly all of us have never won the lottery. And yet, someone does win the lottery, ergo, sometimes hybrids will beat the astronomical odds, and win the genetic lottery of surviving and being reproductively viable.

ANYWAYS... let me just say I'm HIGHLY skeptical of this theory, and a lot more evidence would be needed to convince me.

It's also highly creepy and strange!

But nevertheless, it's a pretty interesting idea, and it would make a cool Sci-Fi fictional story.
