My mother wanted me to become something big

No, she didn't have anything in mind. Neither did she point me in any direction. I was given the freedom to make my own choices in a culture where the common practice was for parents to decide for their kids. But can you really trust a kid to make wise choices? The thing is I could fool them for years that my choices were wise, and they thought, both parents, that I knew more than them and they believed in my choices, that they would lead somewhere. And she supported every choice I was making. In reality I didn't know what I was doing. I was just a kid who needed guidance. Give a child absolute freedom and they don't know how to live. I guess I'm the one who hasn't come to terms with failure yet and I am blaming her.
