Well peadohillia isn't a recognised mental disorder in the UK or America. Most of the western world use the DSM or the ICD. Of course there are cultural differences in classification of mental disorders. I don't know where you are from but pedophilia is not a recognised disorder in the DSM or ICD. And I struggle to see how you would call that a mental disorder. People are too quick to label every abnormality and deviance as a mental illness. You can have things wrong with you without being mentally ill. How would pedophilia be a mental illness? And the ICD serves as an international system of classification of illnesses and like the DSM does not recognise pedophilia as an illness.

I really don't understand how you could ever justify having a pedophile work in a school with underage children? Much less say it is wrong to suggest they shouldn't work there. I don't know if you are joking or what? Would you want your children being taught someone attracted to children? It is has nothing to do with gay people and YMCA. If a gay person had sex with a consenting person of age at a ymca then who cares? If they had sex with a non consenting person or someone underage then that it an issue. But most gay people wouldnt do that. They are not pedophiles and most are not rapists and most don't want to have sex with underage people.

Many mentally ill people, especially depressives are not allowed to be pilots. It is harsh but it is necessary. Now I am not sure what recovery and treatment people with these attraction can get and so I can't comment on it. I imagine that different people respond differently due to individual differences and so perhaps some pedophiles can recover, I don't have much knowledge on this though so can't comment. But pedophiles who have had help and recovered, if possible perhaps it would be unfair to judge them on their past. But someone who has attraction to underage people shouldnt be working in a school and you would be sick to even suggest so. There is a reason why no school employs pedophiles. As I said if it was in the past and they no longer had this attraction it would be unfair to judge them on that especially if they could not help their attraction and sought help. But the fact you are so defensive about pedophiles is worrying. I do understand your point about people being unable to help their attraction and many do want help. I can understand defending these people from the labels and stigma they face, although the stigma can certainly be understood even if it it unfair. But the fact that you are attempting to rewrite medical classification of mental health and claiming pedophiles should work in schools, that is disturbing
