Could you get a telehealth prescription for a small script of benzodiazepines? I usually don’t advise them but in situations like this it may be worth it.

Perhaps also try ringing the department for the lab work and explain your situation to see if they have any suggestions.

Being totally honest - I’ve been in this situation before and had to resort to having two alcoholic drinks before I left the house. But it’s absolutely a risky road to go down and I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re totally out of options. It’s incredibly important to deal with infections though so it may be an option if you are absolutely unable to do it. Just don’t make it a habit.
