The fact they're going after corporations now for being "woke" is also absolutely wild. I say this as someone who is moderately high in the corporate hierarchy at a growing company -- we are not some bastion of liberal or woke idealism.

In fact, as a whole, the company itself and employees are quite conservative in the way that many conservatives pretended to be conservative. And yet we employ a fair number of minorities, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ people even at the managerial level. There is a large number of women in the directorships and executive level.

The fascists would scream that we are woke for that fact alone but these were the best candidates for their respective positions as determined by the needs of the company.

What matters is results and the company I work for has decided that identity, orientation, faith, and race do not matter so long as the job gets done. I've also never been pressured, as I have some control over hiring decisions for my division, to hire a candidate to check off a box, especially if they are unqualified. You can either do the job or not. DEI has ever only meant I have to stay an extra hour some days to interview some more promising candidates.
