New EU rules will remove ‘geoblocking’ so customers can use online subscription services, like Netflix, abroad

There are countless examples of this. One was complaining about pillow size regulations. Basically, the idea is that if somebody goes into a store and pictures his pillow he has at home, compares it with a pillow case in the store it, he should roughly know it'll fit and not be surprised by a triangle or octagon pillow case.

These regulations are only meant to help. Iirc they aren't mandatory, but virtually everyone obeys them since you'll have more success selling nicely shaped pillows and pillow cases.

Aaanyway, some pro Brexit chaps decided to CTRL+F 'pillow' into the EU regulation pdf and copy everything out of it, count the number of regulations and make fun of how silly it is to have 100+ regulations on pillow size. (I admit, there actually might be more than needed.)

I believe it was on that John Oliver show actually were they then revealed that a large portion of these didn't have to do anything at all with pillows. Like being allowed to brand pillow shaped cereal as simply 'pillow' instead of 'pillow shaped cereal', trusting the consumer he knows they are buying cereal and not textile.
