Rural TX seem to always vote against their interest. I work within the rural areas i. such counties such as Freer, Duval, Jim Hoggs, Zapata, etc. so much lack of health care options, employment, housing, financial instability and yet they continue to vote against their interest because many believe that “liberals” will get rid of their oil field jobs. As I been told. Crazy that they rather not have access to other stuff as long as they can keep their job in a field that is unstable and always firing people. Not to mention the toll it takes on their bodies and then get angry when they don’t qualify for Medicare but yet they vote for the same people that want to cut it, because they brand it as a “handout” when in fact people been paying into it.
