Read the Texas GOP Platform and be very afraid and very committed to voting them out.

I worked at wal-mart for a while in management in Dallas. It's actually very fascinating/shitty. Texas is the only state in the nation that bars publicly traded corporations like Wal-Mart from holding liquor permits. I lived and worked in Florida for a time and while our Wal-mart there did not sell liquor right inside the store, we were allowed to have a "separate" part of the store that was attached to Wal-mart to sell spirits. You would see that a lot.

Why is it like this in Texas? because the liquor stores have lobbied state government to keep it this way. they don't want competition from grocery stores.

The liquor store owners are also why we can't buy it on sundays. They've lobbied the state govt over this, too, claiming that it would cost them too much money to have to operate on that 7th day and they would lose money.

So yeah, it's the liquor store owners who keep it this way, oddly enough.
