I remember like 7-8 years my younger brother and I got outside of McDonald’s at like 9pm and two undercover officers zoomed up on us right when we got out talking about “there’s been robberies in X,Y,Z location, we need to see some ID” I was honestly so confused. I never experienced anything like that here in Toronto, I then first tell both the officers that my younger brother happens to have schizophrenia so there’s a good chance he might say/do something irrational. That’s when one of the officers gives me a look like he knows he fucked up but they still ask for my ID. After I gave it to them they search up my name in their laptop and see that my name is clean. I’ve never gotten in trouble with anything. He then returns my ID and says “thanks for not running” and they drive off. All my friends said I should’ve not given them my ID but I just didn’t want the situation to escalate at all. In hindsight, it’s sad I was thinking that way at fucking 15/16.
