[OC] I wonder if my players know how much I throw out each time they DONT fail to save the world?

Yup. I had one campaign where I fully expected the party to fail; because I set them up to (a couple of players had previously told me they were getting sick of winning all the time), but those little shits always do the opposite of what I prepare for. "Oh, that dragon completed the process to become a dracolich? That's nice. Hey guys, remember that scroll we found that can send a creature to the shadowfell that we were supposed to use to bannish that evil wizard but instead just killed him?" And then a couple lucky rolls later and they have saved their kingdom for the 12th time.

Now I know this isn't a true victory. The dracolich is already going to return soon (after 24 sessions of being bannished) to ruin their upcoming thanksgiving feast. But man, these guys are too lucky, and I don't want to accidentally out them in a situation where they are pretty much guaranteed to all die. I wouldn't be surprised if they accidentally killed the dracolich next week.
