I just turned 30. It's the first decade of my life where I don't feel more positive about my future than the past. I suppose that's normal... but the rise of antisemitism and bigotry, on the (US) national stage, has been particularly draining for me and my mental health. I don't really like talking about my problems because at the end of the day I feel like they're pretty inconsequential, compared to most... so I'll list some pros and cons of 2018. I sold my car about a year ago and while I'm happy with the reduction of my ecological footprint - it has not been great for my social life.. or my bookshelf space - turns out 2 hours a day on the bus provides a lot of time to read! My pay went up by .75 cents in 2018 but so did everyone of my co-worker's, performance notwithstanding. At the end of the day, a little dose of kindness goes a long way with me and I could just use the "pick me up." -S
