Officers unjustly arrest man for filming them, lie on reports. Video surfaces of the incident. Charges dropped, City and Officers sued.

There are 12M+ arrests every year. Recorded or not, there are around 5-6K police misconduct cases filed annually.

so...that's about 99.96% of arrests are done without police misconduct charges (with or without being on video) but still allows for around 500 incidences a month...in a job where it deals with the public.

I intentionally did something with the above for those ready to chomp at being a police sympathizer... police misconduct charges and arrests aren't always tied together. There can be simple police interaction where misconduct charges are filed. (for example...a cop asking for a BJ to get out of a ticket..she gets out anyway then goes and files report). No arrest..still police misconduct filed.

National standpoint. This isn't ALL police, but lets go by the standard that ALL police are police and each state government has oversight on the police in each county. Of course, the goal is 0 events occurring. There are still 12,000+ police departments in the US.

So...across 50 states and in a period of 365 days, there are 5,000 filings of police misconduct occurring from the 12,000+ police departments who employ the 750,000+ police officers. This comes out to around 0.6% of police officers will be charged with police misconduct (founded or not).

I'm not a police sympathyzer or appologist. I've seen so many absolutely retarded videos of cops doing things I HOPE they get 20+ years for. I also believe cops should absolutely be held to a higher standard than a citizen...because they have guns, and can legally execute you. My whole point is that I expect terrible things to happen. I'm a realist. When you have 750,000 police with guns running around dealing with other people who want to avoid jail, prison, or a ticket....you're probably going to see a small percentage of those guys fuck up, badly.
