Official Discussion - Halloween Ends [SPOILERS]

Not OP but I honestly adored the protege killer aspect with Corey. It’s something that is always kind of on the table with horror — the possibility of an eventual passing of the torch by a legendary slasher — and I quite liked the execution of the idea. I think the biggest flaws with the movie aren’t in its ideas, but the fact that it all felt a little too rushed

If Corey had been introduced in Halloween Kills instead — maybe Michael let’s him go mid-killing spree, hinting at what was to come in the next film — then I think more people might be able to see that there was a genuine attempt at something new. I had to suspend my disbelief a tad when it came to how quickly Allyson fell for Corey, but other than that I was just pleased by new ideas in such a well-travelled genre
