Official Dreadit Discussion: "Halloween Ends" [SPOILERS]

Spot on. It’s cOoL to be the “critic”, as if the majority are capable of credible analyses, let alone creating anything remotely significant.

Yes, we’re all entitled to our opinions and feedback, which makes Reddit and these types of discussions great (what one might hope for, at least).

It seems counterintuitive/productive to simply downvote (devalue) opinions on a film like Halloween Ends that differ from one’s own. These renditions will never please all viewers. I mean, there’re people who dislike ‘78, despite being a fan of Myers..?

To take it a step further, this type of mentality is explored in Green’s series. Curtis specifically mentions the communal phenomenon of “internet” in a recent interview, and it’s impact on the collective/individual.

All that said, I fucking love all the mixed reviews. At least people are continuing the conversation and keeping this gem of a character/world(s) alive.

I highly recommend Curtis’ recent interviews, especially via Collider (YT).

Also, there’s a podcast series called Unmasked (Amy Nicholson, ‘18) — It’s GREAT. I always think back to Carpenter’s comments on moving to the Jim Crow south, where he, “learned about evil”. This is essentially the genesis of Myers — the masks people wear, hiding evil (good ole southern charm).
