Olive Wagyu in Japan - The rarest Steak in the World

Not necessarily the same but in Lajes, Portugal in the Azores, there’s a well-known (or at least in my line of work) place that does something called “Steak on a Rock.” The idea is that they super heat these rocks, I’m not sure what they’re made of, early in the morning. By the time the place opens up in the afternoon, these rocks are incredibly hot. They bring this rock out to you on a plate and plank and on top of it is a fresh steak from a cow the owner had chosen the day prior. The guy will start by showing you how to prepare and cook your steak in front of you and serves you the first bite. After that, you cut your individual slices and cook them to your liking and there are a few different sauces you can dip each freshly cooked piece in.

I’m not sure if the process is 100% accurate as it seemed like a game of telephone when people talk about it, but that experience was by far the best I’ve ever had when it comes to steak. I know these type of places exist all over, so it’s not necessarily an exclusive experience. It was absolutely amazing and honestly very reasonably priced.
