Only 54% of Americans polled said that Israel is their country's ally, a decline from 68% in 2014 and 74% in 2012.

It took me a while to figure out what was going on -- and I do think I finally figured it out; Saudi Arabia and Israel and Iran are "frenemies" -- they play hostile enemies bent of destruction for the purpose of the local audience.

Al Qaeda started in Saudi Arabia as a religious, anti-shiek movement. The royals were degenerates in their mind. Bin Laden "may" have broken with the family, but it seems highly suspect that the "new" anointed leader is someone from the house of Saud, and he redirects their attentions to problems (like Saddam and US bases) outside the country.

Same with Iran; the dour old Mullahs have a very pro-Western, young demographic in their country (because their wars with Iraq killed a lot of older people off). It seems the only thing preventing them from kicking out Mullahs and becoming a huge supporter of the USA is the USA military threatening their borders and our CIA funding Al Qaeda's terrorism in their country -- and of course Israel.

And the NeoCon leader of Israel would be out by now, only they've got Palestine lobbing rocks and Iran to worry about. I'm sure the Palestinian situation can be argued from a lot of historical and nuanced perspectives -- but to me it's a lot like Mexico with NeoCon involvement; keep the disparity going, and prevent any liberal reforms or opportunity for the average Mexican, and eventually they'd be lobbing rocks as well. We don't need to exploit their labor -- but it's cheap. And Israel would not have to deal with much of their security problems -- but they have a bunch of cheap labor come across the border. Eventually, people resent being waiters and not doctors.

Having enemies allows the people in power within Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Israel to keep a reign on power.

The U.S. military industrial complex needs the same threats to keep the money flowing. if too much peace were to break out, people would start to question why we have so much invested when all we will get from being in the Middle East is grief and a 10% discount on energy -- regardless of ethics, it seems a bad business decision given the costs (about 15% of GDP).

After long thought and trying to find better theories, I've come to believe that most of the great problems we encounter in the world are engineered; Hunger, Conflict, Disparity. The Chinese didn't need air craft carriers for 40 years while they caught up with the USA with technology -- and we did not wipe them out. But you can be damn sure they'll have "good reasons" to spend more and more of their people's money on their military as their Middle Class grows.

The Mossad has a lot of dirt on dirty leaders in the USA -- and likely those who sing the most praise have the most skeletons on the closet. People who are not compromised are less likely to be endorsed by business or the people running things behind the scenes. The 2016 Presidential election is already financed to about $1 Billion. So even if they weren't manipulated by extortion, it's guaranteed that the winner will owe a lot of favors.

So in short; we will jump up and down in fear that Iran will get a nuke. We will have politicians swear loyalty to a country that does nothing but steal tech and resell it (Israel), and we will have military bases threaten Iran -- in an attempt to PREVENT Iran from becoming a pro=Western state.

Because ultimately; the enemy is the People, and they've got to be scared of a foreign enemy so the domestic crooks can stay in control.
