Other:Looks like the Mayor of Long Beach is a DC shill. He made a mini thread.

Also to people discussing the fundamental problems with the MCU. That's easy.

It's a 15 movie tv show. If I, the discerning consumer, chooses to skip a movie, or two, or three then I will be lost because each film heavily depends on the films that came before them to the point that they are crutches. Captain Avengers 2.5 had almost no impact on me because I haven't watched an Avengers movie since Whedon's first. But I did watch The Winter Solider, but Captain Avengers 2.5 Civil War was not a sequel to The Winter Soldier, but a sequel to Age of Ultron, a movie that I have never watched.

That's the biggest problem with the MCU formula. They trick hive minded idiots into spending 15 dollars on a movie they have already watched because the plot of the current stand alone movie hinges completely on the events of the prior movie. That's also why there are no consequences and no stakes. Who cares about the civilians that died seven movies ago? Fuck those motherfuckers, they've been buried for half a decade now. But now I'm supposed to care because Angela Basset cusses me out while I'm on a college tour.

Man fuck these movies, If I keep going I'll be here for hours.

The DCEU so far might be a slew of "ambitious failures", but guess what? That's how cinematic history is made. On the failures and successes of those that came before. That's what pushes the medium forward. Having a clearly defined voice and vision even if that voice and vision is divisive. No regrets for the artistic choices made. I know all of this all too well. Brian De Palma is my favorite director. Zack Snyder fanboys have no idea how good they've got it. Decades of cinematic genius panned because it was ahead of it's time or misunderstood.

Fuck this I'm done. The MCU is hot garbage because it doesn't even try.
