Parents defensive after being called 'liars' over alleged attempted child kidnapping.

I don’t know how I’d react if it were my kid, but I imagine I’d be terrified and that defensive, parental instinct would kick into overdrive.

I’d hope that I wouldn’t overreact and maybe after locking the door and ensuring my toddler was safe, I’d simply send the dude away and then report it to Costco, in case it was a legit attempt and they get other similar reports from customers.

But it’s hard to fault parents for reacting. They don’t know that he’s a nice guy going through a hard time. They just know that some dude who looked high opened up their car door where their toddler was sitting. It’s hard to give someone the benefit of the doubt when it’s your kid. Most any parent would panic or become highly defensive.
