Patreon: How much is smoke, how much is fire?

A third scenario: mainstream conservative media and politicians take notice, and they proceed to use their control over 2.5 branches of the US government to institute rules that could potentially set back the internet for decades. Considering that Republican members of Congress already have their eye on the issue of social media bias, and considering that people connected to the Republican establishment like Dave Rubin and Ben Shapiro have already taken notice, I see no way to avoid this happening if things continue on their present course.

I really, really hope that Paypal et al back down before Congressional committees and the FCC and the FTC get involved, for everyone's sake.
