Why would this phase anyone? Trump did it a hundred times worse. He openly influenced all kinds of policy to benefit private businesses he had interest in and directly forced the government to give his businesses money as well as advertise companies as President.

Everything we may or may not believe members of Congress are doing was done by Trump and his people out in the open.

And no one gave a shit. Hell, people still support him and he may even be coming back for 2024.

So why should we suddenly care?

Face reality for once. Pelosi now represents the high standard, because she doesn't do corruption openly while laughing in your face.

Oh wait. Willful ignorance is another thing Trump took to another level, right? So we just ignore it, when a Republican shoots someone and scream and stomp our feet when a Democrat so much as looks at someone menacingly, right? Hypocrisy has become as normal as corruption.
