People who commute short distances, walk or cycle to work, are more likely to be happy commuters, which makes them more productive at work, suggests a new Australian study (n=1,121). However, long commutes and driving to work are associated with negative work performance and productivity.

You'd think so, but when it's forced and you don't have a choice tht annoyances actually add up to be very similar to regular city traffic.

I did 2 years rural Colorado. To go anywhere was an hour and a half. It was gorgeous country. Breathtaking, no matter the route. But eventually, it's just like everything else. It becomes annoying when it's a daily necessity.

Stupid tourists, stupid big horn sheep, stupid snow, stupid hail, stupid wind, stupid robins, stupid deer, stupid semi, stupid old people, stupid too fast people, stupid glare..

I stopped driving once we got into a situation where we could legit go car free without problems. 30 min on a bus is so much nicer.
