So there was this website that told you what files people had downloaded based on their IP address. It worked on my IP address and it showed on nearby IP addresses. I saw people downloading music and movies via torrent all good.

Then I just keep looking through. Eventually I read the file names on this certain IP address. Let’s just say the file names were easily identifiable as child pornography. The names were pretty vulgar and I remember them to this day. I googled the IP address and started comparing the results. I found out it was most likely coming from the high school near me.

Anyways I filed a report on the Internet to an organization dedicated to this kind of thing. It really bothered me though and I felt that wasn’t enough.

A little while later I end up calling the non emergency line to my local PD. I do my best to explain the situation to the person but they didn’t understand it. She said they probably wouldn’t want to come to see me about it. I figured that I did my part and that was that.

A day goes by and later in the day my brother and I are going out to get food. We get a call from my dad who’s freaking out asking why there’s police looking for me. So we hurry back home and there’s a couple of cops at my door. I try my best to explain the cops who are were technologically illiterate and show them how I found out on my laptop. I then show them the screencap I took of it. I then sent the cops an email with all the info I had and that was the last I heard.

Tl;dr: Found out someone was downloading CP and had cops show up to my house to ask me about it.
