People who have printed their own Vs ordering invites online, what was the price difference?

I think it depends on what you want. I'm making my sister's wedding invitations and based on what she wanted (inspiration suite), it was wayyy more cost effective to DIY it.

For everything, I've spent $196 which includes the colored cardstock for the laser cut piece, the cardstock for the invitation/rsvp card/hotel info card, glitter cardstock for the belly band, printer ink, the rsvp envelopes and the invitation envelopes for 100 invitations. That comes to $2/invitation for all of the pieces.

To buy the invitation on etsy it would have cost her $8/invitation. By doing it all by hand I saved her ~$600. I bought really nice cardstock and printed on my home printer and honestly I could not tell that they were not professionally printed.

My only caveat is that the design was simple black text on cardstock. I did check how much it would cost to have Vista Print print them and it was expensive. But if it were a different design, I would have considered it because I probably wouldn't print 100 invitations with colored graphics on my home printer due to quality. I would get a cost estimate from Vista Print or Cat Print and see how much it'd cost to send them the file and have it professionally printed. That still might be cheaper than ordering the pieces online. If it's not by much, I'd order the pieces online.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
