My grade school best friend and I were inseparable from the go. Our last names both start with the same letter so we were always next to each other in school and teams. We became "the package deal" No one, especially us thought we would ever not be friends because some of the crazy ass shit we had been through. Abusive parents (Hers), abusive boyfriends, drugs, alcohol, everything but rock and roll. Okay, maybe some of that played in the car rides. Anyways. One night she got way trashed at a party making a scene, since we were both underage still the host wanted me to get her to cut it out or take her home. While I tried to calm her down she ran at me, she slammed into me (head into chest) and I slammed into the wall. Came to with a chunk of skin bit out of my chest and a knot on my head. A few days later I simply mentioned how she really did fuck me up and hurt my feelings and she snapped and took some out-of-the-blue low blows at me and my family, who had pretty much raised her. It was then when I decided I didn't want to be abused by her anymore. And we didn't talk again for three years. I see her around at parties and bars. We are acquaintances now I guess but there was no going back to the two of a kind, perfect duo that we were. Not that I want that.
