The percent of working-age women employed across the world is now just 43.2%, compared to almost 70% for men. The numbers have been steadily declining for two decades. What do you think are the long term ramifications of this trend, both for women and society at large?

I once left the workforce for 1,5 years for travelling - the happiest period of my life, tbh.

I also left workforce for 6 months when I left for Vienna to learn German - absolutely happy time.

I'm ready to leave a workforce as I have more than enough to not work for 3-5 years and I'll be happy to give all my attention to my baby if I decide to have one. No partner or a bf yet, I'm very indifferent to having a child as I'm single but if I meet someone wonderful pro-kids who'll be fine with me being home and my savings being partially used for household I'll be happy to give this time for a baby. Careers are for life, they're most of the time not worth the struggle and you never know when you're laid off. So, save as much as you can, reinvest in fixed funds and give this precious time to your kids and yourself instead - it's my philosophy.

It's not always a bad thing when women are not working.
