"The period is just the mechanical part of ovulating" and other "facts"

You are wildly over-doing my logic. I carefully said lots of qualifying language such as "in some cases". You concede that "yes women smell better and have a bit perkier boobs during ovulation." You left out that they act a little different, too. A little. A little. No, they don't run down the street naked. Such exaggeration.

What is this "all post-menopausal ..." exaggeration. I merely said that ovulation is one factor among many in human life, and it isn't without consequences. And that never ovulating for decades may affect lives. Some lives.

Some, not all, OK? Women are NOT powerless; they can tell their doctor to give them a contraceptive, or several at the same time, that will work, but, will not suppress ovulation. Because they want to ovulate normally for a while to see if it makes a difference in their lives. It might. It might not. The woman is always in charge. A doctor should always be consulted.

Men are certainly affexted by women's odors and secretions. No, people can't help all their reactions to things. So what? Is that news?

Of course this is not a neat, mechanical effect, where nobody ever got married on the Pill.

But, a woman who is frustrated at her social life might arrange with her doctor to ovulate again.

If nothing happens, well, she tried. If something happens, well good.

So much wailing and weeping about nature being nature. Well, nature is nature. So what? We can control it pretty well these days.

Why all the freaking out?

As for free will and accountability, we do our best. But we salivate when we smell good food when we are hungry. So what? Or course people have reactions to things.

It is not impossible that some people, somewhere, do indeed feel more, and less, because of the now very widespread suppression of ovulation.

That doesn't mean it has to happen all the time in every situation. It might be one factor, sometimes.

People have no idea, none at all, why they are attracted to one person and not to another one who, on paper, is just as appropriate for them. None. They can discuss it all day, attraction is irrational.

But people should do what they want! But they might as well know some things about human beings in general. Each case is different.

My ideas about women's rights are just as modern as yours are.
