Piercing aftercare - common sense & how not to fuck up (from a piercer).

I had my lobes pierced (second set) in March and my piercer told me go only rinse my piercings in the shower and nothing else. I wasn’t able to go to the follow up due to COVID, and then I moved to a different state. I then (about a month and a half after getting them) discovered the back of the one was covered in dried crusty fluid and was red and sore. I kept just rinsing in the shower, and the redness and soreness went away, but I d still get fluid and crust. I went to see a different piercer once they opened up for them to look and they said they weren’t infected and to use a Q tip with sea salt water mix, and a very gentle soap like DR Bronners. I have been doing that for about 2 months and I still get fluid and crusting?
