Planet Fitness cancels Woman's membership after her complaints of transgender woman in locker room

Look... you are entirely missing my "platform" here. We (society) have decided to put genders in different rest rooms and locker rooms. That's the framework we have to work with. The hypothetical I posed was an unaltered man deciding to use a women's locker room. He says he identifies as female. Putting aside the obvious indignity of it, who verifies such a claim? Outwardly, he looks like a male (as the person in the article did). A female sees this apparent man in the locker room and is summarily punished for complaining about it. That's what happened in Michigan. Keeping in mind these gyms are 24 hours, what happens when the same man lurks in the women's locker room at 3AM waiting for someone to be in there alone with him? In your world, that's impossible. In the real world, it's going to happen if it hasn't already. You won't even consider it, which surprises me because it's not my community, the cisgendered male community, who's going to take heat for it (even though one of "ours" would clearly be at fault). It's going to be you. Wrong though it may be, the argument is going to be, "are we giving transgendered people too much freedom?". This will be your fault so far as the uneducated masses are concerned because if you hadn't insisted on "letting those perverts into the ladies' room", it never would have happened. If you think society is any more educated or empathetic than that, you are mistaken.

Do you not see the "slippery slope" nature of this? You can't even meet me half way and acknowledge the possibility of such an assault occurring. You see what you want to see and there's nothing I can do about that. All I can tell you is the world is a shittier place than you give it credit for. People, horrible people, will go to the worst imaginable lengths to do what they want to do. If you think a world which contains pedophiles and serial killers can't also contain someone willing to pose as a transgendered female to gain access to vulnerable women, I can do nothing for you.
