They don't need to hide it, Let me explain from technical view :

to prevent cheat developers test detection vectors or debug it.

Pro cheaters never does this they learn how to move like a pro, kill like a pro, act like a pro, they help team mates, get lose on purpose and etc, They call it long term cheating.

On the other side there are short term cheaters, they don't care about rank up or getting level ups, they just want to cheat and beat the shit out of you to feel good about themselves, They are bad players who can't win a single game and get pissed, They buy or make hacks and start bombing anyone, They can't go much far as server side anti cheat kick their ass after some games and they know it, so they just fire up their cheat to highest aiming mode which they call RAGE mode, ruin experience for everyone and get happily banned.

Yeah, The guy is just having fun beating your ass unfairly and he know it, He don't need to hide it.
