i hate chiming in on this stuff but i feel the need to. gay guy here early twenties never left Nova Scotia. i have severe PTSD from the homophobia i lived with constantly in rural NS. it really ruined my childhood and i made several attempts at suicide when i was younger. it was a nightmare going to school everyday and being forced to go to a place where you’re the only gay guy and everyone fucking hates you. i’m starting to heal now but it’s been over 5 years. i have night mares weekly of the people in high school still and just being in the building. i’m pretty far behind in life because i didn’t care about school i was too focused on getting home so i didn’t have to be in a place i felt unsafe in. it is seriously horrific being gay in Nova Scotia.
