PSA - No refunds... even when it's a store error!

Gary ME: I am trying to get a refund on a purchase that was made in error. I’ve emailed support and they will only refund to my PSN wallet and not my bank.

Gary ME: I purchased PS+ subscription for £39.99, but at checkout it said the store was undergoing maintenance. I tired again and got the same error. Some time later I realised that both transactions were accepted and I was charged twice.

Gary: Glad to see you have just one R too, the correct way! our terms of service do dictate that all refunds are made to the accounts wallet Gary, so I am afraid the information provided by them is correct. However if you would like, I can look into this further for you.

Gary: Yes please, I don't feel like this is my fault and whilst I am more than happy to keep one of these purchases, to keep hold of my money for the other is very immoral.

Gary: It's not like i changed my mind or anything

Gary: I understand this and I apologise Gary, I'll need some information from you to look into this further. Am I speaking to the account holder?

Gary: yeah

Gary: I mean, yes sir

 Gary: Great, now I just need to take your online ID, email address and date of birth on the account, just to make sure we're looking at the right one.

Gary: sorry, I thought you wanted an account number, that's why I went AWOL for 30 seconds

 Gary: Thanks for that. Please give me a couple of moments while I take a look at your account, I won't keep you long.

 Gary: sure NP

 Gary: that means 'no problem'

 Gary: When you purchase content from PlayStation Store you buy SEN wallet funds that have no value outside the PlayStation Store itself and are not redeemable for cash. As there isn’t a wallet funding associated with this purchase I can’t offer a refund back to your payment method. I'm really sorry Gary and I understand you feel a card refund should be made as you did not intend on purchasing two subscriptions, however we cannot offer a card refund.

 Gary: How do I speak to someone about getting a refund from my PSN wallet?

 Gary: Wallet funding cannot be returned to the payment method Gary, so sadly there is not someone I can put you in touch with as we cannot offer a refund to the card.

 Gary: I don't understand why I'm being victimised here? The error was at your end, indicating the transaction didn't work.

 Gary: I don't want £39.99 sitting around gathering digital dust forever

 Gary: I can see from the account that the purchases were a few minutes apart, if the transaction was duplicated by our system the transaction would show up as occurring at the same time Gary. I totally understand that you are unhappy with the money in the wallet as you did not intend on adding two amounts to the wallet, however I am unable to refund the transaction to your card.

 Gary ME: But the system indicated that the transactions didn't happen when they in fact did

 Gary ME: I haven't downloaded anything, I haven't played a game or watched a movie. I bought (was duped) into 30 months of PS+

 Gary: I understand this Gary and I apologise, as you had not used the subscription and it was within 14 days we have offered a wallet refund. However, in line with our terms of service we are unable to offer a card refund. I'm really sorry about that Gary.

 Gary ME: Is there really nothing that can be done? I can't believe that Sony and Playstation who I've always held in such high regard are treating me like an idiot

 Gary: I assure you we are not treating you like an idiot Gary, I apologise if this is how you feel. however, we are unable to offer a refund to the card in line with our terms of service. I wish we could come to the desired outcome for yourself, however we are unable to refund to the card.

 Gary ME: Well there was a transaction made form my card to the SEN wallet, surely this can be refunded? Don't say it can't Gary! C'mon dude, I know this is possible.

 Gary ME: If I had paid on CC then I could instruct VISA to do it. So it can be done. The ToS are not an actual restriction, it's theoretical. Like oxygen.

 Gary: Gary, we are unable to offer a card refund. I understand you feel this is not the case however it is, I understand this is not what you were hoping for and I apologise however we are unable to offer a card refund.

 Gary ME: PLEASE?

 Gary ME: Is there an address I can write to?

 Gary ME: Like on actual paper?

 Gary ME: or visit?

 Gary ME: not really, I won't visit

 Gary: Gary, sadly we are unable to offer a card refund. Also, we do not have an address for written queries, they can only be sent in via e-mail.

 Gary ME: But email have said the same as you

 Gary ME: I need to speak with whatever department actually handles real world refunds

 Gary ME: CASH MONEY

 Gary: Yes Gary, as we are unable to offer a refund. We are the only department that you can speak to regarding your case Gary as we are PlaySation Support.

 Gary ME: Thanks for nothing Gary. I thought we were friends. I'm of to Reddit to post this and rile up a storm. SEEYA!
