Which illustrates the point beautifully, I think. Who is the authority on which item is intended for what class and spec?
Our Developers could sort through the thousands upon thousands of items that there are in the game but would everyone agree with their determination, if they actually spent the item doing that?
Do you really wish to have that kind of restriction when it comes to loot? "Oh, you only have 2 talent points in X, you can't use Y to its fullest so you can't roll on it." "Oh, Y is an upgrade for you but it isn't considered perfect for your spec. . . . "
There are two essential issues here, that originally started in the other thread but has carried over into another. The Need before Greed loot determination and Master Looting. I think I covered Need before Greed.
As for Master Looter. When you join a group you are allowing the leader of the group to determine its' makeup, you are allowing them to determine what looting method is to be used. If it is Master Looter, you are allowing the Master Looter to determine to whom the loot gained in the instance is goes to.
If there are special stipulations made on loot distribution and that agreement isn't upheld, that could be considered a scam and something that the In-Game Support staff may look into if reported.
For example the agreement could be: If X drops I (the master looter) will give it to Y but everything else is free roll. or If X drops I (the master looter) will allow everyone to roll on it.
Now in the first example if X dropped the Master Looter looter could give it to Y, if they gave it to Z then Y could report that as a possible scam. If the other items couldn't be rolled on and the Master Looter just up and left with them, that could be considered a scam.
In the second example, if X dropped and the Master Looter decided to keep it for himself, that could be considered a scam.
