Punjabi rapper from Toronto gets recognized by OVO Sounds Radio

Now you're drawing ties between Bindy Johal and Ghadarites?

No, that was a seperate point on the negatives of Sikhism.

Plus, I don't understand how Sikhi necessitates a slave mentality

To an ignorant white man: "Sikhs love the British" "We're here to serve you, sir. If you see a Sikh, we're here to serve you".

u/advicethrowaway05 is right about them "always bringing up their past in fighting for the empire". Sikhs post up phtotos of Colonial Sepoys with pride, it's disgusting.

Are you equally proud of Pakistani Muslim gangs in UK fucking up shit there?

Am I proud of them? No, they're a seperate community. Do I respect them for not taking shit from anyone? Hell yeah.

force Burqahs on women, set up pedophile rings

How the fuck is that relevant to this discussion? Of course that stuff's disgusting.

The irony is people like Bindy Johal are integrated; they're very western, live in comfy houses, and would hardly fit into Punjab nowadays. The fighting culture in Punjab is very different

Those West Coast communities are VERY OLD. They've had their own evolution. Why the fuck would we wanna live exactly like the lads back home? You can progress as an ethnic community without assimilating into the dominant culture. I'm glad we don't still hate on Dalits like back home too. There isn't 2 options: live exactly like Punjabis back home, but in the west, or move to a white neighbourhood and assimilate. That's what's so great about enclaves, they allow that. Random Punjabis here and there with a non-Punjabi peer group does not, which is why you get so many whitewashed "confused" desis in the US where the community isn't stong.

Ranjit Singh's best decision that allowed his army to kick ass in the Anglo Sikh wars was to not be part of the insular "ew, ew, ew, phirangis," crowd, but take benefits from them while maintaining his own identity and sovereignty and not completely losing sense of who he was like the Patiala kings that sold out.

Did he do that by moving out of his community and assimilating? No.

You're arguing against a stance I never took. I'm not saying stick to some imaginary "pure, stationary punjabi culture" and never take inspiration from other communities. It's this bizzare anti-enclave mentality you have that I don't fuck with. That and your stance on the gangs in Vancouver.
