Putin may re-open McDonald's in Russia by lifting trademark restrictions: report

They've announced that any business leaving Russia will have its assets seized by the Russian government

No, they haven't. The secretary of their main political party has proposed it as an option, and specifically named three Finnish food producers as the context.

Please, read the actual news instead of basing your worldview on reddit comments.

Certainly Russia seizing assets is something that could happen, but they have not "announced that any business leaving Russia will have its assets seized by the Russian government". It's like if, in response to a school shooting, Ted Cruz or Trump said "we should make sure every teacher in America is armed and ready to defend their classrooms" and you came on reddit to tell the world that "America has announced that every teacher in the country will be armed and trained to defend against shooters."

And this is literally the top comment on this entire thread. This is why so many people consider reddit to be an echo chamber and people who get their information from this site to be misinformed, or at the very least underinformed.
