I agree there. It was the way the story is currently structured, so I emulated it. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it worked without backstory, but apparently it does. I appreciate you really nailing that point home.

This is true. I was working off coffee, and I was running on flumes after writing a full page synopsis, which I realize I should have integrated.

To go through it point by point, it’s a deal with the devil, Blackwood is the base, and those two round out the crew. I didn’t think I had the word count to really go into it, so I stuck to the synopsis. Thanks for bringing it up.

I apologize that it appeared argumentative. I meant to explain my choices, but that didn’t translate like I hoped. Unfortunately, I was downvoted not long after I posted the query letter, and each one received a downvote not long after. Regarding the other conversation, I came for help, and it seemed as though he told me I didn’t know my own story or how to tell it. To me, that seems personal, though I probably should have just deleted it and left. Thanks for your time.
