Yeah, I got an Ibanez originally because I had short fingers. As my skills improved I've had no issue with anything I've played.
I've got a Bass that's 34" scale. I've played but haven't bought a baritone yet (28") and my Ibanez guitars are 25.5, 25 and 22.75" scales (if memory serves). My Fenders are also 25.5 while the LPs are 24.75. I think 24.75 or 25 are the best for me but I won't give up my longer scale guitars. After playing bass for a bit, everything seems tiny in comparison.
The only negative to the Ibanez cheapo guitars is their fret edges could use some work (especially on jumbo frets).
My favorite guitar I've got is my Ibanez KIKO10P. It's neck is thicker than my RG/S guitars but it's fantastic to play.
