Questions for non-binary to form a better understanding.

Actually, you have exactly what i'm getting at. From all the people I've talked too and what I have read over and over is many believe these things dictate what gender you identify with. That there seems to be a misconception of what gender identity and sex are in general.

I understand many will disagree due to preserved self image. Most commonly i've ran into is the, "I don't identify as male because I do not like male things." But saying any activity or concept is male or female is a socially imprinted gender role. It has nothing to do with what sex you are.

People can feel to be the wrong sex/ have the wrong genitalia and can go back and forth on that feeling which would be non-binary, but general mass descriptions of non binary from those who consider themselves non binary, or explain non binary equate the gender rolls to gender identity. As if they are the same thing.

The ideas of what feminine or masculine are are dependent of the social majority perception and have all to do with gender roles versus gender identity. One could argue that if you do not fit into a gender role then you are not that gender, but that's like saying if I act and like cat things then I'm a cat.

But like I said, I expect majority to disagree with my findings which I accepted. But from all the information I've collected, I found especially the youth, cannot differentiate between gender identities and gender roles. Part in due to wanting to fit into a group and feeling apart of something and label ones self to define why they do not fit into the preserved norm of how male and female should be.

50% of the answers are; i like dressing a certain way or being more feminine or masculine, but am happy with my body/ sex i am, but i'm non binary.
