Quickest way to move forward is to move around.

I always say it really depends on the situation and goals. If you really love the place you work, sometimes staying and seeing if you can move up from within would seem more worth it. If you want to get a pay increase, for sure bouncing around can help that.

I’m currently an Accounting Manager within a department in my areas local government, and honestly have no plans to move on. Pay isn’t great (doesn’t really bother me too much though), but man life is easy right now.

8:30-4:30 every day guaranteed, 1 hour paid lunch so I’m really only working 7 hours a day, fantastic benefits and retirement. If you’re looking to move up, for sure bouncing around can help. If I stayed at my AP Specialist I wouldn’t be here. I really have no desires to move forward at the moment.
