Im working on a game, and hoping you guys might be able to help point me in the right direction with music suggestions.
The game about dancing pastries. It's a rhythm game a la Parappa The Rappa or Guitar Hero, but the goal is to dance to music, and you're a pastry.
Im still very early in the dev process, but heres a clip of an early demo.
What im looking for is recommendations of artists or songs that would fit the style and theme of the game.
The song im using in that clip is Tinie Tempah "Girls Like" because it has the right temp and a steady backbeat that allows you to keep you rhythm, but ultimately its a little too pop-y.
At base what im looking for needs to be dance/disco music with a BPM around 120. Visually there are two aesthetic themes to the game. The fact that the characters are pastries implies some kind of candyland vibe. And I plan to style the game with a kind of vaporware color and lighting scheme.
Ive been listening to a bunch of Vaporwave music trying to find something that seems like it will fit, but everything has been a bit too "chill", or too "pop/clubby".
Kero Kero Bonito has a sound that i think fits the candyland vibe im going for, but not dancy enough.
Im hoping you guys might be able to throw some suggestions my way of other artists or songs that could fit the bill for this game?
