/r/worldnews has now made it a bannable offense to cite immigrant crime statistics

Looking at News, Worldnews, politics, or any of the most popular subs, you would think Trump would have lost by a landslide..

Well, if you consider reddit, he has. He has lost the popular vote even in the real world. IIRC he is particularly popular among the old people, who are a minority on reddit. Reddit has a bit of a slant toward a college educated, young demographic. Add to that reddit is not US only, and add the fact that Trump might be even less popular in other counrties than he is in the US... well, that's all the explanation for the situation on reddit you need.

NOPE, turns out they have a very short fuse for conservative redditors

Luckily there is /r/The_Donald, a space where freedom of speech and mature discourse is still valued. Trump supporters are doing their best to fix this. Right?

It's really convenient to overlook, that a good part of the Trump hatred on this site comes from this manipulative censorship heavy propaganda safe space, whose main job was systematically flooding the front page with lies and brainless memes, while mercilessly censoring not only all opposition, but all discussion.

The main job of the Trump sub is throwing shit on the front page? And now people have a short fuse in regard to trump support? Well, what a surprise! It must be a conspiracy.

As a European who has no horse in that race, my hatred for Trump comes exclusively from the idiotic echo chamber that it /r/The_Donald. If my fuse in regard to republicans has grown shorter, it is because of that sub.

myself included for saying a Bernie supporter was an idiot for thinking Bernie could just make healthcare and education free..

So you called someone an idiot in a sub where the first line you read when you visit is the "this is a place for civil discourse"-disclaimer? Truly mysterious.

There was no idea so dangerous, you couldn't discuss it..

How lucky that /r/The_Donald exists, a place where one can freely discuss all kinds of ideas across the political spectrum, because this place holds high the values reddit stood for in the past. No idea is too dangerous to discuss in there. Right?

You know, when your main sub's official policy is censorship, lies, memes, and general aggressive shit flinging, then other people might come to identify support for your political ideals with that attitude, and everyone might grow to hate you.

There is very little mystery in that turn of events.
