So you want every character in existence in every game, or films, or whatever to be a goody two shoes? So you hate how Carlos was an asshole for being a creep towards Jill? "That's somebody's daughter. Why is he making sexual comments towards her?".

That's called personality. Each individual on this planet act the way they are, because of how they experienced the world. It's what got, or gets them through their lives.

And, Jill was like that to Carlos, and his teammates, because they were Umbrella. I remember she was nice to Kendo. And it's not like she's the first ever character in the entire world of fiction to have a bit of confidence, or like you said get "cocky".

Also, if you hear, and gunshots, and sirens do you already know what specific thing is happening? "Maybe terrorists, gang robbery, an Evil Corp. Terrorizing civilians, CRIME"?

The difference between smart, and dumb people is smart people still ask, and confirm what's happening, even if they got a clue, from previous encounters, and not just think the first thing that comes to mind makes it correct. Although it's true that the Remake felt rushed, and Re Resistance was bad.
