The lustre doesn't appear to be there anymore. At least, I don't think so anyway. Absolutely possible I'm looking through rose-tinted glasses though.

VoG, a lot of the loot pool was uniquely desirable. Crota too in a slightly lesser fashion. King's Fall had a lot of underrated weapons from that time, a lot of Wrath's weapons may not have been the best at the end of the game's lifespan, but they were still competitive and looked really cool.

I feel that Leviathan only really had Midnight Coup as a weapon that was truly unmissable. Of course 1K Voices was in Last Wish, Anarchy arguably either way in Scourge, but there hasn't for a while been a feeling where all of us are waiting until reset for another three chances at something anymore. There doesn't appear to be anything truly special to go for.
