I'm the first person to giver her any attention in college (freshman year). She dumps her fiance (who she had been with for 5 years) for me pretty quickly and doesn't bother telling me. Things are fun for a couple of months, but I break it off when she says she wantsto get serious. So she goes back to her fiance. Fiance takes her back at first, but he leaves her one month later after learning what she'd been up to with me.

I don't speak to her for a few weeks and the semester ends. I go home for the holidays. On NYE I got a call from her saying she's hurt and needs me to pick her up. I tell her I'm nowhere near her (she's from Maine and I'm in Texas) but she says "You don't understand I'm here. I came here to talk to you and someone tried raping me. I'm hurt and don't have anywhere to go"

I think "for fuck's sake. Not this shit", but I drive out to where she says she is. I get there and she's fully of smiles and clearly not hurt in any way. She then starts confessing her love and telling me I have to take her because she can't be without me. I tell her I've moved on and that she needs to get on a plane back to Maine. This is where things get dark and she starts threatening to kill herself, accuse me of rape, kill me, and all kinds of colorful things. I somehow calm her down by telling her that if she goes back home we can try again when the Spring semester starts, so she goes back to smiles and gets on a plane.

First week back at school, I meet up with a mutual friend of ours and the first thing she says is "did you hear about your crazy ex?" For some reason my first thought is that she's talking about the shit she pulled on me, but no. I quickly learn that she stabbed her fiance after he didn't take her back on New Year's Day.

She went to prison for a couple of years and moved to Texas right after she got out. She quickly got pregnant... The lucky fellow overdosed on heroine before the baby was born (lucky bastard?). She's since become a meth addict, lost custody of her kids (she had two more), and has been in and out of jail for the past 6 years. I saw her being arrested on 6th Street in Austin once. She winked at me.
