Reddit, what is your worst moment of "I probably shouldn't hang out with these people"?

I think it may be my time to shine. Going to try and do this story justice.

Summer a decade and then some ago, two friends and I rent two houses in a town of 1500 people in Andalucia, Spain. Plan is to stay at each house for ten days. No entirely sure why it got planned that way, but it becomes important later.
So arrive in this small town, three 25 year old guys, and it turns out the fellow who rents the house is very big into Gypsy culture. (I am going to use this term, because it is a term they used themselves, with pride). So the day after we arrive they have a "traditional gypsy meal" and a guy plays flamenco while five young ladies danced and sang. Audience participation encouraged. Long and short we become friendly with five Gypsy ladies, 2 sets of 2 sisters who are cousins and their best friend. Five Gypsy ladies, aging 19-26.
So we become good friends, two of us are serious relationship, and I was a heartbroken punk, so our not coming on to them was probably refreshing. It was awesome, they took us to a wedding of a cousin that was a thousand words of story I can relate if needed later.
One of the ladies has a crush on my friend, "S". She also has, no lie, NINE brothers. Fuck I just realized how much backstory is needed here, because I haven't really gotten to the part where we moved houses, into the neighborhood where all these people lived. I'll attempt to pick up the pace.

meet, Carlo, former junkie and it turns out attempted murderer, who eventually is found staring into window at sleeping girlfriend of "S", 3 am. meet Paulito, HNIC of the local syndicate, (turns out town we to for wedding is massive clearing house for drugs out of Morroco), he stops by to say, " you don't just have sex with a Gypsy women and then leave town." This idea has been waaaaay out of our heads for quite a while now, but he firmly reinforces point. things get real wierd with young lady who likes "S" and has 9 brothers. public weeping, S is very, very attached to his SO, has been actively discouraging her since day one.
Paulito threatens Carlo near our rental with switchblade.

We leave in the dead of night, a day before we tell everyone we are going to.

TL:DR Travel rules, have an escape plan.
