German here. media has turned into more or less a 24 hours propaganda machine calling everybody that disagress with taking even more immigrants a nazi. going even so far as to openly lie about the facts. most immigrants are male and come from eastern European countries. they are coming here to profit from government hand outs not feeling from wars. yet they media almost never talks about those kinds immigrants instead trying to focus on families feeling from war (which by the way we definitely should help)
where I life crime has definitely risen but the police won´t do anything about it because they are to afraid to be labelled as nazis. just last week a old couple which I know personally very well was attacked by some immigrants but the police decided to not press charges against them.
when it comes to public opinion most people seem to be against it despite the media trying it´s to hide it.
almost all politicians want to increase the amount of immigrants even more labeling large groups of the population that protest against more immigration as "nazis" and "pack" (which means something like peasant in german) one politican of a far left party even said on tv that he is happy that the german population is dying out.

but that not even the most frightening part. the police have now forbidden anti immigration groups from having public protests and ordered the public to report your neighbor, friends and family members for sharing anti immigration opinions. if you are familiar with german history you might have heard of something very similar like this before
