My boyfriend's mom made a pork stir fry and I had seen the pork sitting on the stove most of the day. I was 100% sure I would get food poisoning, ate an entire plate in front of her because she thought I hated her food, and puked my guts up for 3 days on a business trip I left for the next morning lol.

Another one, my boyfriend's mom doesn't wash dishes properly so she gave me just white rice with a fork, the fork still tasted like cat food she had fed the cat earlier, powered through it because she was watching.

My boyfriend kept insisting for years I was the one with the weak stomach/being too judgemental of his mom's cooking. When he moved out after a few months of eating clean, properly prepared food he consistently gets diarrhea whenever eating his mom's food. His brother is the same. I don't power through it anymore I just say I've already eaten lol.
