Unless you have a really good reason to move here, dont. Just do yourself a favor and dont. Maybe you've visited here a few times but dude this place's bullshit really wears on you over time, everything about this place is fucking stupid.
But Ill give you some pros first: its pretty fucking cool to have almost everything open 24 hours, I always get a little culture shock in other places when the corner store isnt ope at 2AM. Its relatively cheap. Winter weather is pretty nice. Surrounding scenery is cool, mojave desert looks brutal and youre surrounded by mountains. Henderson is a decent place to live but boring as all hell and full of rednecks. Some of the shittier parts of town are starting to be turned around but its so fucking pretentious and fake.
Ok, so, sure theres plenty to do "downtown" (Paradise) but its so fucking expensive, drink prices are absurd. And really when it comes down to it its just a bunch of different places to drink, and theyre all so fake and trashy and full of assholes. Oh yeah, the people. THIS PLACE IS FULL OF ASSHOLES. Tourists suck, and the locals are worse, and the summer heat just brings out the worst in people. Ahhh yes, the summer. Again maybe you visited here a few times in the summer and thought, "hey this aint all that bad" dude Ive gone through 25 of these fucking summers now, Im finally moving out of here in a month and Im so glad because I really cant take that shit any more, people arent supposed to live here. Seriously, no one was supposed to live here. Paradise (what most people think of as Vegas) was purposefully founded out in the middle of fucking nowhere where it gets hot as hell and in unincorporated territory so authorities wouldnt (or couldnt) bother to stop a bunch of criminals doing their shitty bussiness. The mob took over and at some point some assholes figured this place is cheap as hell so they should build a bunch of houses and shit. Now you have a major city where humans simply shouldnt be living. This whole town's reason for existence is fucking retarded. Another thing, the roads here make no fucking sense, but that was actually by design. Back in the cold war the roads were specifically made to be all twisty and turny and shit to lead any spy planes that probably never came away from a titanium plant here. So its a fucking hassle to drive anywhere, also people here cant fucking drive, and tourists have no idea where theyre going. I could go on but Im done. Im done with this fucking town, born and raised and I always hated it.
Aaaaaaand thats why you shouldn't live in Vegas!
