The one is a REmake of the original RE1 back in 2002 The other is a HD remaster of said REmake.

HD remaster was not a Remake of RE1.

Both were done by 2 sets of devs teams

Yes it is of the same game but it is 2 different entities in a franchise each with its own lore.

So the Remaster in 2015 was good, yeah? Well the 2002 REmake was fucking amazing considering it was 2002 and with the hardware/software restrictions back then it is mind blowing how ahead of its time the REmake technically was.

Did we see another leap like that from REmake to Remaster? No.

That is why we distinguish different models between for instance cars & movies.

Stop thinking Physical & literal, think of the place that game holds in the overall scheme of the REsident Evil series and gaming itself.

Same with RE4, which some hails as one of the greatest games ever, Not the latest adaptation remastered in HD for Current Gen, but the very 1st iteration of RE4. Not for what was in the game but what it represents.

I guess if they remade a HD VR Version of Pong you would also group that together with the original and see no difference in core as it still is just 2 paddles moving vertically up/down the screen.

Guess a Movie & it's remake is also just the same movie with minor differences that does not equate to them being distinguished as 2 separate entries into film folklore. Same goes for every other movie/car/TV show ever Remade?
