Revisiting old nerfs

From the Journal of Telem, young master of the House of Pelles:

|Father,

Today I received a letter of admittance from Prince Havel’s Academy of Stone, from which the Prince personally selects his officers. Were you here, you would certainly have expected no less from the Head of the House of Pelles. In your absence, I have kept the House with dignity and honor befitting a Great Noble Family of Abiel. Take pride in your son, for I shall claim a rightful spot by Prince Havel and bring glory to our family.

Surely, you must have heard echoes of the Great War wherever you are. Though you departed before it commenced, the sounds of our battles ring through the clouds, and tales of our Prince Havel extend through the heavens. No shard exists which has not felt the reverberations from Abiel’s might upon the world. As the family head, my duty compels me to represent our House in the Prince’s Legion. Soon, I too shall have my tales told, and I can be sure, Father, that you will hear of them.

Master Xeros claims I am the greatest prodigy of the past ten revolutions. Though I temper myself with humility, I take pride in his praise. I have mastered the Pelles Swordforms to the 7th degree, and now I study esomancy with Master Ajax. Mother wishes I stay away from esomancy, but how can I, when the stories say Prince Havel himself is a master esomancer. In this world, power rules above all. To be accepted in the Academy of Stone, I defeated 5 lower Nobles and Antenor from the House of Podon in combat. From their weakness, I shall surge forward.

Farewell, Father. Though they say your expedition and Prothemoal are lost to the essence, I do not listen. Once we have united the shards of Preth under Abiel, I shall await your return. But if you have indeed fallen to the embrace of Shaw in the Great Oceans below, then rest easy knowing that in Strength and Glory, the House of Pelles lives on!

Signed, Telem, son of Theseus, House of Pelles|
